Kite Downwind 2020
A non-profit project like no other! Kite Downwind was created 4 years ago with the idea and motivation to raise funds for a kindergarten here on the island of Boa Vista. Each participant paid a “registration fee” for participation and what was left in the end was 100% invested in kindergarten, as will happen in the future. For a participation fee of € 390 €, Downwinder receives an exceptional offer for 2019!
Ulrich Frank, the founder of kite4change, personally takes care of each participant in advance. Travel planning, accommodation, airport transfers and all downwind trips on the island are planned and organized with the best local kitesurfers.
Last year, Cape Verdean kite surfing legends Matchu Lopes and Mitu Monteiro, together with local and European talents, had a lot of fun with winds of up to 30 knots and huge waves. For safety reasons, the race starts just before reaching Boa Vista;
Last year, Matchu won the title, followed by Sean Guy and Arsenio Dias. The whole event ended with a big party on the beach, with live music and bonfires.
